About The Event
This workshop will aim to widen your knowledge and understanding of transference and counter-transference from different therapeutic perspectives and how this impacts in the therapy room. Working relationally, we will explore through your case examples these phenomena. Participants will be encouraged to bring their own cases and share their own experiences with the group. We will explore the impact the work has on us as therapist and ways to support ourselves when working with clients.
The main aims are to
1. Develop a greater knowledge and understanding of transference and counter-transference.
2. Provide a safe and confidential space to discuss clinical material.
3. Consider case examples from clinical practice.
Throughout the day, we will be drawing on case examples from our own practice. Participants are also invited to bring along their own clinical and personal experiences for inclusion in the discussion.
This workshop is suitable for all therapist who are working with clients regardless of their level of experience.
It is anticipated that some group members will have more experience than others and this is will allow for greater sharing in the group.
